SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
SOU is the law firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Center. It is made up of employees from both the administrative and legal areas, at all levels, from partners to interns. The center aims to raise agendas and discussions about diversity and inclusion, in addition to disseminating information on the topic and ensuring, every day, a diverse work environment based on respect for differences. Dynamics, lectures, training and podcasts are held on related topics. SOU also has hiring and growth policies that are independent of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and beliefs.
To launch SOU, we carried out training with a consultancy specialized in Diversity, which included the participation of all professionals, divided into 3 meetings in which D&I themes were discussed. At the same time, we launched the law firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Booklet.
After a dynamic called “What box do I fit into”, we received recommendations for music, films, series, and books sent by professionals and shared around 51 books and 49 series and films. Especially for LGBTQIAP+ Pride month, 10 films and series and 5 books related to the theme were recommended.
Internal podcast where law firm professionals belonging to a minority group share their experiences, contributing to raising everyone’s awareness on extremely important topics.
We created a playlist on Spotify, lasting more than 4 hours, containing songs recommended by FIUS professionals and SOU Recommendations with artists who belong to and defend the representation of minority groups. The playlist has more than 80 songs.
At the launch of SOU, in June 2021, we held a Gamified Dynamic with specialized assistance in which all firm professionals followed a 1-week trail with educational games to introduce the topic.
In June 2022, Rita Von Hunty, Drag Queen, teacher, actress, presenter of Drag Me As A Queen (E! Channel) and Youtuber, a persona created by Guilherme Terreri, who is an actor and professor of English literature and researcher of culture studies, led a lecture on “Micro Aggressions”, where more than 130 professionals were able to understand and discuss the topic.
We carried out training with the office’s Leadership, in August 2022, with Gabriela Augusto, black transgender woman, Bachelor of Laws (PUC-SP), Specialist in Design Thinking (Echos Innovation Lab) and Director and founder of Transcendemos, about the role leadership in Diversity & Inclusion.
In November 2022, the entire law firm participated in a lecture on Inclusive Leadership in Practice with Alexandre Kiyohara, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at B3, Advertising undergraduate from PUC-SP, in Gender and sexuality from the University of Pittsburgh and Graduate Student in Diversity and Inclusion.
In November 2022, SOU was certified with the São Paulo Diversity Seal, a recognition from the São Paulo State Government of good Diversity and Inclusion practices.
For the fourth consecutive year, we have been recognized by Análise Advocacia Diversidade e Inclusão as one of the firms moving towards a more diverse legal practice.
